2011 Summer Theological Academy FAQ’s
Do I have to want to be a pastor to come to the Academy?
No, the Academy is an experience for any young person who is looking to dive in deep and explore what God is up to in the world. It is an experience that welcomes in anyone excited to ask big questions about Jesus, the church, and the world. Feel called to be a pastor? Awesome! This would be a great experience. Don’t feel called to be a pastor? Awesome! This would be a great experience. Nowhere near sure where God is calling you? Awesome! This would be a great experience.
What does a day at the Academy look like?
Each week day at the Academy begins and ends with worship with a community of 20-25 other youth. In-between each scholar (youth participant) will take part in two courses, the plenary course that everyone participates in and a theme course chosen the three options. The rest of the day is filled with time for reading and reflection for courses, time to relax and enjoy the community of other young Christians, and gather in reflection groups facilitated by Seminarian Mentors.
