Crossroads Event
Join us for the 2012 Crossroads Event…this year at Lutheran Theological Seminary at Gettysburg!
“What is God up to in the world?”
The Crossroads Event is a one week experience for high school youth (just having finished 9th or 10th grade) that asks this question…and then goes out and looks for answers. Along the way we encounter social and advocacy ministries of the church like:
- Luther Place Memorial Church & Steinbruck Center for Urban Studies
- Lutheran World Relief
- Lutheran Imigration and Refuge Services
- Lutheran Advocacy Ministry of Pennsylvania
Unlike a typical mission or service trip, the Crossroads Event looks to connect up with these ministries, explore the hows and the whys of God’s work through them, and then return to their congregations with relationships established and skills gained to be advocates in their community.
The Community
Up to 25 high school youth come together with seminarian mentors, and other teachers of the church, to form a community that worships, learns, and grows together! Traveling together each day to places like Harrisburg, Baltimore, and Washington, DC, this community grows together as they see the love of Christ poured out on a world so in need of the gifts we have!
